The Leverhulme Research Leadership call is now open, with a deadline of 10 May 2019. Each institution is limited to one application and there will therefore be a co-ordinated bid.
The scheme offers £800,000 to £1m for talented scholars to build a small research team with the aim of significantly impacting on the direction of their field. The project must have a duration between 4 and 5 years.
Prospective candidates should approach their divisional research support team in the first instance.

Bids will be ranked by each division and presented to a central panel (chaired by the PVC for Research) due to convene in late March. The nominated applicant will then need to submit their application to Research Services by 4pm on 3 May 2019 for submission to the Leverhulme Trust at noon on 10 May 2019. This full application should consist of a statement of the intended research, CV for the group leader, an estimated total budget (no provision for replacement teaching or for overhead expenditure), the names of two referees external to the University of Oxford, and a statement by the University of its research strategy insofar as this impacts on the group’s work and intended allocation of resource to the group.
