UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has announced a funding competition for a series of Community Research Networks across the UK.
Phase one of the competition invites Expressions of Interest (EoI) from lead organisations, who will apply to establish community networks. This phase is not intended to fund projects – these could be a downstream outcome of the networks, supported by the implementation phase (see below).
Lead organisations will be non-academic, such as charities or local authorities. Research organisations (including Oxford) are not eligible for funding during the EoI phase. It is expected that only organisations in receipt of funding will be named as co-applicants (or contractors). Researchers and research groups who are interested in being involved can be named within the application.
Only lead organisations that have submitted a successful EoI bid can apply for further funding during the second, implementation, phase of the competition in April 2023. Oxford could be named as a co-applicant and receive funding during the competition’s implementation phase.
Anyone interested in being part of an application to this call is encouraged to speak with Matthew Hickman, Head of Public and Community Engagement with Research.
