MRC have launched the third round of their MRC Equip scheme for the purchase of mid-range equipment for biomedical research.
Bids can request a contribution of between £100,000 and £800,000 for equipment. MRC will fund 100% cost up to this limit. MRC expects to make awards in May 2024 and successful awards must complete their spending by 28 February 2025.
The University may submit nine applications to this call so MSD are leading the internal selection process to determine which applications can go forward.

Expressions of Interest (EoIs) are now invited through IRAMS (“MRC Equip: Mid-range equipment for biomedical research EOI”) by 12 noon on Tuesday 14 November 2023.
Applications from the MRC Units are not included in the institutional limit of nine application. However applicants from MRC Units are asked to submit an internal EOI so that the Medical Sciences Division and Research Services are aware of your application and can support accordingly.
MSD will aim to notify applicants of the outcome of their EOI on or around Wednesday 22 November. Bids that are selected to go forward to the MRC will need a full costing and RS approval in time for the MRC’s application deadline on 16 January 2024.
