Oxford Martin School funding

The Oxford Martin School funds interdisciplinary research projects on novel or state-of-the-art technologies that create solutions for the major challenges of the 21st century.

They are looking for projects that:

  • develop novel or state-of-the-art technologies to address a major contemporary challenge
  • provide novel ways of tackling barriers to the deployment, uptake or adoption of an innovative technological solution

Applications to the school usually include lead researchers from more than one department and successful proposals are very likely to pull together novel combinations of researchers from different fields.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Monday 11 November 2019, and requests for full proposals will be issued in mid-December.

The Oxford Martin School anticipates that they will contribute a total of up to £1m per award, over a period of two to five years, with the research teams starting work in Michaelmas 2020.

More details on the call, including how to apply, are available on the Oxford Martin School's website. The school encourages interested applicants to get in touch with the Research and Programmes Manager, Dr Ella Adlen, at ella.adlen@oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk or 01865 (2)87367.
