Research and Innovation Committee recently approved a new mechanism which will be used by the University for evaluating opportunities to partner on large-scale research initiatives with overseas institutions and organisations.
The mechanism comprises a list of questions in the form of a tabular scorecard and addresses the four broad areas of:
- alignment with University strategy
- scale of benefit (relative to cost)
- reputational issues
- legal, ethical, and health and safety issues
Use of the evaluation mechanism will ensure that prospective international research partnerships undergo a thorough and robust review prior to the University committing to them.
