EPSRC have launched a NetworkPlus call for financial services. Each institution can submit only one proposal as lead, and only one network will be funded nationally.
There is a short mandatory expression of interest (EoI) stage with a deadline of 26 October 2021. Anyone interested in applying should contact Martin Edmunds by noon on Monday 11 October with the following information:
- PI
- co-Is
- anticipated project partner organisations
- short paragraph outlining the proposed network and the particular challenges it anticipates addressing
If there are multiple incompatible bids then a short notice prioritisation process will need to be run ahead of the EPSRC EoI deadline.
Overview of the call
EPSRC is seeking to fund the creation of a NetworkPlus that will underpin new academic and business partnerships within the financial services sector. They wish to encourage partnerships and collaboration of businesses in the broad financial services sector with academic researchers in the creation of the collaborative network in order for it to address user-inspired research challenges.
Anticipated outcomes include:
- the creation of more and better partnerships within academia, and between academia and the financial services sector
- increased trust and levels of collaboration
- more investment and engagement between businesses in this sector and academia
NetworkPlus activities should:
- be UK-wide, drawing on existing, or developing, regional strengths
- involve a broad range of disciplines and non-academic stakeholders from the financial sector
