Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN)

Managed by: Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences
Description:

The Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN), established in 2017, is a multi-disciplinary neuroimaging research facility. WIN aims to bridge the gap between laboratory neuroscience and human health, by performing multi-scale studies spanning from animal models through to human populations.

Facilities include:

  • 7 Tesla Human MRI Scanner - The 7 Tesla human MRI scanner was installed at FMRIB in 2011 and since then has been used to generate high resolution images of brain function and structure in many basic and clinical research studies.
  • 3 Tesla Human MRI Scanner -The WIN's workhorse human MRI scanners are two modern 3 Tesla Siemens Prisma machines - one at OHBA, and one at FMRIB.
  • Magnetoencpehalography (MEG) - The OHBA Magnetoencephalography system measures the magnetic signature of brain activity with millisecond precision.
  • 3 Tesla Non-Human Primate MRI Scanner - Our dedicated non-human primate scanner allows us to carry out the same functional and structural MRI scans as are acquired on our human scanners.
