Pathways to impact

Most funding applications to the Research Councils require the completion of a Pathways to Impact section. This is intended as an opportunity for the applicant to explain how they will ensure that any potential scientific, societal, economic or cultural impacts of their research are realised.

Please see the Research Councils' Pathways to impact web pages for useful information and resources, including guidance on completing the funding application and a selection of case studies.

The specifics of how impact is assessed vary across the councils – please see the funders' websites for further details: AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, NERC and STFC.

The Je-S online help guide also contains advice on pathways to impact.
