Terms of Reference
The Research Data Steering Group will:
1. act to establish a strategic focus and sustainable and effective working practices in Research Data Management across the institution, available to all Oxford researchers and compliant with principles and standards adopted across the sector
2. oversee the implementation of the Research Data Management Improvement Programme (RDMIP)
3. provide strategic oversight of the Research Data Delivery Group
4. facilitate University compliance with the requirements of its major funders in relation to research data management and open data/data sharing
5. report to the Research Information Management Sub-Committee on RDMIP progress, enabling the Subcommittee to monitor progress and expenditure of projects within its remit, to bring to the Subcommittee’s attention specific matters of concern, and to assist the Subcommittee with its three-year plan for investment across research IT initiatives
6. advise and seek views from Research and Innovation Committee on changes to the University’s Policy on the Management of Data Supporting Research Outputs anticipating and reacting to developments in research data management both nationally and internationally, to best serve the University’s constituent parts
