Welcomes, inductions and signposting for researchers

Ensuring a warm welcome and effective induction are key to enabling new researchers to navigate the breadth of Oxford’s opportunities. Departments or faculties offer inductions, supported by an orientation to the University and opportunities to meet a range of researchers offered by the Researcher Hub. Tips and planning tools including the Researcher's Trailmap are available to researchers via the Researcher Hub website

Time invested in personal, professional and career development enables individuals to thrive and is integral to the quality of the University's research at Oxford. From induction onwards, fixed-term researchers are directed to development opportunities, identifying any gaps and piloting ways to meet these.
