Facilitating world-class research
The Central University Research Ethics Committee (CUREC) has overall responsibility for the development of the University’s policy on research involving human participants and personal data, and for the University’s ethical review process.
Please note that CUREC does not provide ethical review or approval of individual research project applications. Such applications should be sent to the relevant CUREC subcommittee. Further information about how and where to apply for ethical review is available on the research ethics pages.
The University’s Regulations (Part 13 of Council Regulations 15 of 2002) set out CUREC’s membership requirements and terms of reference, as well as those of its subcommittees.
Queries for CUREC should be sent to the secretary.
Should you wish to submit a paper for CUREC’s consideration, please contact the secretary for the relevant deadlines.
CUREC members can access committee papers through CUREC’s SharePoint site.
